We are JHCycling

We are a group of avid cyclists living in Jackson Hole, WY. Our riding is some of the best in the country, both road and mountain, and we want to help you enjoy it!

When I'm not working you'll find me outside. Depending on the season, that might mean I'm skiing, running or riding my bike. In addition to JHCycling I also run the JHSkimo site. I am the past race director of the US Ski Mountaineering National Championship as well as the Wyoming Rando Roundup stage race and the Heather Paul Memorial Hill Climb. I currently divide my summer race season between bike racing and ultra-trail running and spend the fall racing cyclocross.

I grew up riding my bike all over Boise, ID as a kid and never lost my love for that feeling. Even as a midshipman at the US Naval Academy, I smuggled my bike in (although not until I was an upperclassman) and hid it in the boathouse where I trained as an oarsman. Bikes were not allowed and I could've been in serious trouble, but it was worth it. Being stationed in different parts of the country as a pilot, I started racing and was exposed to all the various types of riding from coast to coast. After several years racing on the west coast, I went back to school to become a dentist. I hope to keep enjoying this ride as long as I can.

Cary races for The Hub Bicycles.

JEN VERTONE, Board Member
Women's Initiative Leader

Growing up in Bozeman, MT, Jen spent her free time running and hiking in the backcountry. She has a degree from MSU in exercise physiology. Throughout college she taught indoor cycling as well as worked as a personal trainer. During her post graduate work she taught exercise testing labs to undergraduate exercise physiology students. In college an orthopedic issue forced her to hang up her running shoes. Given her love of the outdoors and endurance sports she started road cycling. That is where she discovered her passion. Jen continues to coach indoor cycling classes at Revolution Indoor Cycling. It is coaching that enables her to share her passion for cycling and inspire others. She also road races and has turned her focus to ultra endurance road cycling.

I started out as a rock climber but finally had to admit that my elbows were going and that it was time to find another sport. I’d been a bikes lover since my BMX days as a kid, so cycling seemed like the obvious choice. I don’t race, instead preferring to stop and smell the flowers despite being violently allergic to them. While I’m mostly a mountain biker, I also love the road, snow, gravel, and anything else I come across. After almost twenty-five years living in Jackson Hole, I’m still amazed by the trails I have access to right outside my door.
